Neon Nights
Kowloon, Hong Kong.
I looked up instead of along the street. Above the traffic the signs stack three and four deep: a mahjong parlour, a karaoke club, shop names in red, pink and gold against dark concrete.
Hong Kong has been taking its neon down for years, replacing it with LED or with nothing. I photograph the signs that are still burning because I don’t know how long they will be there.
