Matosinhos, Portugal. 2025

A few minutes after the gull, a surfer walked out of the water and along the shoreline with his board under his arm. I let him reach the edge of the frame, with the gulls filling the space he had left.

Matosinhos is Porto’s surf beach. On warm evenings the water is full until the light goes.
