On the Pier

Oslo, Norway. 2022

I photographed her from behind, the way I often photograph people: looking at the same thing I was looking at. A wooden pier on the Oslofjord, a lamp already switched on under a grey sky, and the low islands across the water.

I made it black and white because the colour added nothing. The lamp, the coat and the line of the far shore were the whole picture.
