Above Laos

I was on the ground for this one, on a village road outside Vang Vieng, when the balloon drifted over the rooftops. The low sun lit the envelope and the trees on the left and left the street in shade.

Vang Vieng sits among limestone karst on the Nam Song river, and the balloons go up at the start and end of the day. I liked it better from below, with the power lines and the tin roofs in the frame.
